Position Summary : As a Senior Safety Officer, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety and occupational health programs. This senior role ensures compliance with federal, state, country, and DoD safety regulations, promoting a proactive, risk-based safety culture. You will lead site safety assessments, accident prevention programs, and training initiatives across multiple BIM project locations. The role involves collaborating with program leadership, field supervisors, and government stakeholders to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with OSHA and other standards. The position is located at Los Angeles SFB and is contingent upon contract award to V2X.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as a Senior OSHA-certified Safety Officer, overseeing all safety aspects for team and USG personnel on-site, including work in HAZMAT, underground, confined spaces, and other hazardous situations.
2. Develop safety plans and training materials for staff.
3. Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety policies and protocols.
4. Act as the On-Site Safety Officer, monitoring OSHA safety standards compliance.
5. Possess knowledge or experience in safety management and engineering.
6. Demonstrate physical presence and experience working on installation sites of varying sizes and complexities.
7. Produce safety incident reports and data inputs.
8. Ensure installations meet safety standards and maintain site cleanliness, restoring sites to original or improved condition.
9. Evaluate safety performance and recommend improvements.
10. Function as a safety expert across multiple projects.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

Work Environment

Office setting with potential support for austere locations.

Physical Activities

Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications

• Technical BA / BS Degree, or
• High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
• OSHA Certified
• Construction Safety 30-hour Training
• Confined Space Training
• First Aid Training

Experience / Skills

• 7+ years with BA / BS Degree
• Minimum of 10 years supporting large, complex projects as Safety Lead, Manager, or Officer, with a High School Diploma or Associate Degree.

Clearance Requirement

• Active DoD Secret (Tier 3) clearance required.

Skills & Technology

• Experience supporting DoD network modernization projects.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
