Fusion HCR Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our client’s dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who excels in cost analysis, budgeting, and process improvement to help drive informed business decisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring production costs, preparing financial reports, and supporting cost control initiatives within a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls within assigned areas of responsibility.

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on overhead expenses.

• Partner with plant management and the Accounting team to ensure actual spending aligns with budgeted and forecasted targets.

• Compile and evaluate sales and gross margin reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including variance analysis of purchasing and manufacturing costs, tooling amortization, margin trends, and productivity metrics.

• Oversee the Cycle Count process, providing operational recommendations based on results.

• Establish and maintain standard cost structures; propose and implement process improvements as needed.

• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

• Reconcile inventory and prepare all related inventory schedules.

• Conduct Scrap and Rework Analysis, ensure appropriate recovery from suppliers for responsible scrap, and process inventory disposals as necessary.

• Perform inventory risk analysis based on current sales forecasts and internal requirements.

• Lead monthly program profitability reviews in collaboration with Program Managers and the Business Development team.

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of annual audit documentation for relevant areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA designation not required).

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in cost accounting (manufacturing experience preferred).

• ERP system experience: 2+ years preferred.
