Summary of Job Description The positions within a Welder are responsible for assembling parts together. The employee sets up various parts for the welding process such as drilling, grinding, and welding. The employee must be able to weld sheet metal. The employee must be able to read blue prints and schematic diagrams. They must maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Essential Functions \n - Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment
\n - Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks
\n - Understand and review work orders, diagrams, check lists, and blue prints
\n - Set up parts for the welding process
\n - Grind, drill, cut, clamp, caulk, tack weld, bench weld and/or sub welds. May also assemble parts.
\n - Weld sheet metal materials
\n - Apply measurements to parts and equipment
\n - Use and operate hand and power tools
\n - Ability to lift up to 35lbs; >35 lbs requires two team members, and >59 lbs requires a lift device.
\n - Operate a crane/hoist for heavy lifting
\n - Assist co-workers with heavy lifting of parts
\n - Understand the differences in parts and tools
\n - Work required hours and have an excellent attendance record
\n - Work overtime as needed
\n - Sweep and clean shop area
\n - Maintain a clean and safe working environment
\n

Marginal Work Functions *These functions may be considered essential based on location, position, and other factors.
\n - Install hose and cord reels and generators*
\n - Mounting of parts*
\n - Retrieve parts from outside*
\n - Participate in rotating jobs
\n - Assist in training new employee

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS \n - Minimum Qualifications
\n - High School Diploma/GED or 6 months of related work experience
\n - Proficient in MIG welding on steel and aluminum as demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test
\n
\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \n - Technical school certification in related field.
\n - Certified in operation of break and shear.
\n
