\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n• 13-week assignment duration
\n• Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
\n• Work in a 24-bed PCU specializing in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery post-operative care
\n• Maintain 1:5 patient ratios for PCU
\n• Float as needed to other PCUs and potentially Med Surg units
\n• Experience with progressive care unit patients and equipment required
\n• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Epic charting system experience required
\n• Skills include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drips management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
\n• Care for adult and geriatric patients with chest tubes, IV drips, trachs, PICC lines, and LVADs
\n• Work with specialized equipment including remote telemetry monitors and vent-capable beds
\n• 32 hours of orientation provided
\n• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
\n• Christmas time off requests cannot be approved

\nThis healthcare facility operates a specialized 24-bed Progressive Care Unit that serves as the stepdown unit for the Open Heart/Thoracic ICU. The unit focuses on providing comprehensive care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, with particular emphasis on post-operative cardiac patients. The facility maintains advanced equipment and technology including remote telemetry monitoring, vent-capable beds for chronic trach patients, and comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
