🕒 Shift Details

• Shift Type : 12-Hour Nights
• Night Start Times : 3p–3a, 5p–5a, 7p–7a
• Day/Mid Start Times : 7a, 9a, 10a, 11a, 12p, 1p
• Mandatory Flexibility : Must be willing to work all listed shifts — no exceptions
• Weekend Requirement : Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Holiday Requirement : Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the season
• Floating : Between Gilbert and Chandler ERs (7 miles apart); possible mid-shift float

📋 Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS
• TNCC or ATCN
• PALS or ENPC
• Moderate Conscious Sedation Competency (testing required)

🎓 Experience & Exams

• Minimum Experience : 2 years Level 1 Trauma/ER experience (within last year – mandatory )
• Pre-Start Testing :
  • Dysrhythmia Exam (via UNA): Must pass within 48 hours of offer; max 2 attempts
  • Sim Lab : Pass/Fail on Day 1 of orientation — failure = DNU for 6 months
• Orientation : 2–3 days on unit

🛏️ Unit Details

• Beds : 60 total (includes 14 Fast Track)
• Bedside Triage : Yes
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1:3–4
• Support Staff :
  • Charge Nurse & Unit Secretary : Present
  • Paramedics : IVs, fluids, discharges, tech duties
  • CNAs : Tech duties
• IV Team : Paramedics start IVs
• RT Available : 24/7
• Pharmacy : 24/7 (ER pharmacist onsite 5 days/week)

⚙️ Equipment

• Telemetry : GE Lifepacks
• Vents : Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger
• BiPAP/CPAP : Vision, V60

🧬 Common Diagnoses

• Trauma: MVAs, GSWs, blunt/piercing trauma
• CVA, MI, high-risk OB
• Psychiatric holds (4–6/day)
• Cardioversions, conscious sedation for closed fractures
• Pediatric Population : ~11% (Admit only 15 years and older; younger are stabilized then transferred)

• Lab Draws : Done by lab unless central line access is required

🚫 Cancellation Policy

• Facility may cancel:
  • Up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
  • 3 shifts for shorter assignments
