Job Description

The PeriAnesthesia Nurse provides professional nursing care in accordance with Ambulatory Care standards. The nurse will focus on preoperative and post-operative care for a wide range of outpatient services, including medical and oncology patients, surgical patients, and gastroenterology patients. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating care effectiveness to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care during pre-operative, post-operative, and transfer of patient care.


• Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs.


• Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.


• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and treatment measures.


• Support communication between patients and healthcare staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required.


• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.


• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required; renewals are every two years.


• Proof of successful completion of EKG course preferred.
