Title: Assistant Teacher

About The Position: 

During the school year, hours are mostly from 2:50 to 6:00pm on school days in off-site locations. We will work with your schedule and days you are available. This can be a great job for people in school/college. Education comes first. We aim to train our Assistant Teachers into Lead Teachers, making $25/hr

Requirements:

• Must regularly arrive on time.
• Ability to pass several background checks.
• Art and science background, either professionally or as a hobby. Think painting, sculpting, woodworking, ceramics, graphic design, illustration, watercolor, sketching, sewing and drawing for art and biology, physics, chemistry, engineering- we want artists and scientists!
• Strong written direction following and technology skills. We need regular email checking, use of Google Calendar, Sheets and Documents. Texting is helpful, but primary job communication is via email.

Preferences:

• Well rounded science background/understanding. If you did well in high school chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy and geology or have some college experience in these fields, this is a great job for you.
• Experience teaching or working with children. This position can be great for stay at home moms, part time teachers or day-care providers. High schoolers with experience babysitting could make great classroom assistants.

Duties:

• Communication with Lead Teacher
• Set up classroom
• Teach lessons to children and teenagers (age range from 2.9 yrs to 18)
• Assist struggling students one-on-one
• In-class demonstrations and teaching
• Take photos for advertising, following photo permissions
• Compliance with student allergies and other health challenges
• Lesson clean up
• Regular reporting
• Regular checking and responding of email 
• Accepting and declining classes via digital calendar (Google Calendar)
• Tracking of hours (Gusto)

Hours: Flexible with Restriction on Class Availability. Position paid hourly. 20/hr
