For more than 30 years, Pioneer Welding & Fabrication (PWF) has supported commercial, industrial, and retail construction across Florida with structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and installation. We are seeking a Remote Structural Steel Estimator with Division 5 experience to support growing demand and deliver accurate, competitive steel estimates.

This role is fully remote. Candidates must have proven structural steel estimating experience and the discipline to perform in a production-driven digital environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, shop details, and connection designs
• Perform detailed takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals
• Price materials, fabrication labor, erection labor, crane/equipment needs, and coating requirements
• Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing for steel, hardware, and specialty components
• Prepare formal bid proposals, scope clarifications, and assumptions
• Maintain organized bid files, digital documentation, and timeline tracking
• Coordinate with internal project teams for estimate hand-off and clarifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years estimating structural and miscellaneous steel
• Tekla PowerFab (FabSuite) experience required
• Proficiency reading structural drawings, anchor plans, schedules, and weld/connection symbols
• Ability to estimate both fabrication and erection
• Strong Excel skills; Bluebeam or similar takeoff tool preferred
• Solid written and verbal communication skills; professional remote work habits
• Ability to manage deadlines across multiple active bid opportunities

Preferred Experience

• Commercial, industrial, tilt-wall, or public works steel estimating
• Experience coordinating RFIs, VE options, and bid clarifications
• Familiarity with steel tonnage and assembly labor logic

Compensation

$70,000 $85,000 annually , based on experience and demonstrated estimating capability.
Additional consideration available for candidates with advanced Division 5 estimating experience and proven Tekla PowerFab proficiency.
