Are you a finance professional with a knack for accuracy and a passion for the construction industry? We are on the hunt for a dynamic Contract to Hire, Lead Accounts Payable Specialist to join our vibrant team. This position will offer you the opportunity to apply your accounts payable and reconciliation skills in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to our company's success.
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Accounts Payable Specialist, your main duties will include:
1. Processing and verifying invoices and credit memos in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
2. Performing 3 Way Match – matching invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports to ensure all data is correct.
3. Handling accounts payable inquiries and resolving discrepancies in a professional and efficient manner.
4. Preparing weekly and monthly reports, including aging reports and summaries of outstanding invoices.
5. Conducting regular reconciliation of vendor statements and company accounts.
6. Assisting with month-end closing processes and providing support during audits.
7. Collaborating with various departments, including procurement and project management, to optimize financial operations.
8. Providing recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Specialist position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 6 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in 3 Way Match and reconciliation processes.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
