Job Title: Senior HVAC Estimator

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior HVAC Estimator in San Diego, CA, to lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects. In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in HVAC systems, construction methodologies, and estimation software to develop comprehensive project bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to produce detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems.
• Evaluate materials, equipment, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates to support budgeting, project planning, and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies in the estimating process.
• Lead and supervise junior estimating personnel, ensuring consistency in processes and estimate accuracy.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and databases, ensuring that current market trends and pricing are reflected.
• Propose and implement value engineering options to optimize project costs and improve bid competitiveness.

elor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, with a strong focus on commercial mechanical construction projects.Proven knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, piping, and controls, and a strong understanding of commercial building automation systems.Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.Hands-on experience with cost estimation software such as Bluebeam, MS Project, Trimble AutoBid, and Autodesk tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.Demonstrated local and stable work history, with experience in San Diego or the broader Southern California region preferred.]]>
