Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in mild to moderate disabilities within a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This contract position is based in Eureka, CA, and focuses on delivering tailored instruction to support the unique learning needs of students with mild to moderate challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Provide specialized instruction within a Special Day Class (SDC) environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including parents, therapists, and general education staff.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards and regulations.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere to encourage student growth and independence.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential with authorization in Special Education.
• Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities.
• Proven ability to effectively deliver instruction in a Special Day Class setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to design and implement IEPs that comply with state and federal guidelines.
