Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team. This is a seasonal position.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge. This role involves operating skid steers to clear snow and ice from various surfaces using a plow or other attachments. Must have reliable transportation to and from work site, must be able to work in all weather and have waterproof clothing.

Responsibilities:

• Available 24/7 during snow season; flexible availability to work any schedule, including on-call shifts and long hours during snow events
• Always ensure the safety of people first
• Perform pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance on the skid steer and equipment to ensure they are in good working order. Follow all safety protocols and procedures for safe and efficient operation
• Clear snow from designated areas and pile it in approved locations only, sometimes working around obstacles
• Apply de-icing agents like salt or liquids as needed to control ice accumulations
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate efforts and effectively clear sites during and after snow events
• Accurately document site services, weather conditions, and any obstacles or issues encountered at the site
• Report safety-related issues with the equipment or at sites with the Account Manager or Zone site manager
• Attend and participate in scheduled training sessions as required

Required Experience:

• Ideal candidates will have previous experience operating skid steer loaders and other heavy equipment
• Prior snow removal experience
• Mechanical understanding of equipment in the industry
• A strong commitment to safety and responsible operation of heavy equipment
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Ability to lift or carry 50 lbs. 8 – 10+ hours per day
• Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions 6 – 18+ hours per day

• Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Work in bad weather and have waterproof clothing
