Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shell Construction Estimator to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies. The Construction Estimator will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to develop comprehensive estimates that reflect the scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Read and analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information for accurate estimations.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices for materials and services.
• Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and provide updates on budget variances.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and bid-related correspondence.

Experience

• Proven experience in shell construction estimating or a related field is essential.
• Ability to estimate concrete, rebar, and framing costs.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Familiarity with cost control measures in construction environments.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing project specifications.
• Strong negotiation skills for effective communication with contractors and suppliers.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in shell construction, including concrete, masonry, and framing.
• Experience with high-end residential and commercial projects.
• Proficiency in PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Excel.

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
• Office-based in Tampa
