Job Overview and Responsibilities

Shop Overhaul Engineering manages a variety of projects in UA's component and rework/remanufacturing shops, including component repairs, robotic programming, data analysis, and process management. This role leads a team with expertise in material processing, metallurgy, destructive testing, microstructural analysis, chemical management, and repair processes. Responsibilities include refining engineering procedures, standardization initiatives, and supporting shop operations across the UA system.

• Lead departmental strategy and manage engineering personnel.
• Ensure compliance with legal and technical standards for engine and component maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
• Develop and implement product improvements related to engine performance and repair.
• Identify key issues and oversee projects for product and process enhancements.
• Conduct failure analysis and investigations, report significant findings, and guide the engineering team to meet divisional goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or related experience.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience in engine/component maintenance, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of engineering technologies including materials, metallurgy, coatings, and machining.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Successful interview completion required.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience.
• Project management and process improvement skills.
• Experience in adapting facilities to new repair processes and procedures.
