Job Description

Job Description

A Quietly Elite Opportunity for Experienced Family Law Practitioners

Wine Country Family Law, P.C. | Northern California | Hybrid

Location: Santa Rosa, CA (handling Sonoma County cases)

This opportunity is intentionally not for everyone.

Wine Country Family Law, P.C., is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney with the experience, judgment, and confidence to manage complex family law matters independently, without needing to build a firm, manage staff, chase business, or navigate internal politics to do so.

This role is designed for accomplished attorneys who could run their own practice, but who deliberately choose not to, because they value excellent legal work, professional autonomy, and long-term stability over entrepreneurship, self-promotion, or firm-building responsibilities.

Who This Role Is For

This position is an exceptional fit for an attorney who:

  • Has at least 5 years of recent family law experience , preferably entirely in California
  • Is confident in their legal skills and does not need external validation or a title to feel successful
  • Prefers substance over status and professionalism over performative leadership
  • Thrives with autonomy and accountability, without micromanagement
  • Values a calm, drama-free, ego-light workplace
  • Wants to practice family law at a high level for the long term, not as a stepping stone
  • Appreciates structure, systems, and support, and uses them well
  • Has strong emotional intelligence and understands the human side of family law

This is not the right role for someone whose primary goal is to build a personal brand, originate business aggressively, control firm operations, or “prove” themselves through hierarchy or dominance.

The Firm

Founded in 2008, Wine Country Family Law, P.C., is a well-established Northern California family law firm with offices in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Ukiah. We intentionally operate under a trade name, reflecting a firm culture grounded in humility, collaboration, and thoughtful business strategy, not partner ego.

The firm is structured so senior attorneys can focus on legal excellence while leadership handles infrastructure, staffing, systems, and growth. Our attorneys are trusted as professionals, supported by exceptionally experienced paralegals (each with 25+ years of experience), and backed by a collaborative attorney team.

Many attorneys choose to stay with the firm long term because the environment allows them to do their best work, consistently and sustainably.

The Work

Senior attorneys at Wine Country Family Law, P.C.:

  • Handle sophisticated family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and complex asset division
  • Appear in court and manage cases with independence and sound judgment
  • Conduct initial consultations and provide strategic guidance to clients
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and attorneys within established systems
  • Contribute thoughtfully to the firm’s culture through professionalism and steady leadership

Compensation & Professional Respect

  • Base Salary: $160,500–$195,500 annually, aligned with senior-level experience and judgment
  • Bonuses: Meaningful performance-based bonuses tied to reasonable billable expectations and overall contribution
  • Hybrid Schedule: Up to 3 days remote per week
  • Comprehensive Benefits:
  • 80% employer-paid medical coverage
  • 100% employer-paid dental, vision, chiropractic, acupuncture, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 4% employer match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Annual allotment for CLEs, bar dues, and professional memberships
  • Wellness program

Compensation is structured to reflect trust, longevity, and contribution —not churn, competition, or internal politics.

The Bottom Line

This is a role for attorneys who want:

  • To practice family law at a high level
  • To be trusted and supported
  • To avoid firm politics and entrepreneurial pressure
  • To build a long-term professional home , not just their next move

If that resonates, we would welcome a confidential conversation.

All inquiries are handled with complete discretion.

Please email your resume (cover letter optional) to kristel@hiringandempowering.com
