Safety Coordinator

Huxted Trenchless is an MBE certified microtunneling and horizontal directional drilling contractor based in Texas, serving North America. The microtunneling team has guided boring equipment capable of installing pipe from 24” to 120” in diameter, with significant experience working in ground conditions ranging from highly porous, soft sandy silt to lime rock. Huxted’s horizontal directional drilling capabilities include large diameter HDD for land or water crossings and shore landings.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team in Tampa, FL, supporting heavy civil construction operations across multiple project sites. This position is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting inspections, and coordinating site safety efforts with field staff, the project Owners and Subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular jobsite inspections and safety audits.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain OSHA and company-required documentation.
• Support project teams with hazard analysis and safety planning.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of safety experience in heavy construction.
• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 510 and/or CHST equivalent a plus.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel locally to multiple jobsites as needed.
