Summary: The Quality and Release Manager plays a pivotal role in driving excellence across our DevOps and Quality Engineering teams. Leading a group of 6–10 engineers, you will provide technical and process leadership to foster a culture of trust, innovation, dedication, and accountability. You will define and champion a DevOps and quality strategy, process, and tools that empower the organization to deliver rapid, consistent, and high-quality releases. Your leadership will foster an expansive view of quality to encompass activities across the entire organization. Additionally, you will make staffing decisions, support the personal and professional growth of your team, and ensure they have the resources and capacity to achieve business objectives and deliver on commitments. Essential Duties: Conduct performance management of direct reports including hiring, firing, onboarding, 1:1s, annual assessments, and recommend compensation changes for direct reports. Set individual and organization goals and drive accountability to delivery. Regularly gather and report metrics which represent measures of success and key performance indicators (KPIs). Help direct reports identify and progress professional and personal growth goals. Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and contractors. Participate in day-to-day technical operations including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Identify process and tooling gaps and provide actionable recommendations. Occasionally write and maintain test cases, suites, etc. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Reliability of the systems and solutions delivered by the engineering organization. Integrity, visibility, and auditability of test cases, test suites, releases, and infrastructure changes. Workflow and tooling used to deliver and monitor applications. Training across engineering org to enable the most effective use of tools. Psychological safety, adaptability, and professional development of direct reports. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Minimum 7 years of experience managing software teams with a focus on DevOps and/or quality. Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing the work of at least 4 individual contributors. Demonstrated successful management of quality processes (workflow, ticketing, reporting, etc.). Prior experience managing cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred). High degree of emotional intelligence, ability to empathize, negotiate, and actively listen. Excellent communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Experience in the financial services or fintech space. Experience with Atlassian suite, X-Ray (or other test management suite). Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, etc. Experience with .NET Core, MySQL, Vue.js, NodeJS.
