Job Description

A manufacturing facility is seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations and drive improvements across production, maintenance, quality, and safety in Grand Blanc. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong operational background and experience managing teams in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; investigate incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Manage material and product inventory to meet quality and service standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and competitiveness.
• Lead capital projects focused on ROI and productivity enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Sales, Engineering, HR, and Finance.
• Develop team members and cultivate a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Maintain cost controls across capital expenditures, labor, and operational spending.
• Ensure facility and equipment reliability through preventative maintenance and ongoing optimization.
• Maintains high ethics and values in the workplace

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing
• At least 3 years of leadership experience

Preferred qualifications:

• BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or related field; graduate degree preferred
• High level leadership skills that create an engaged employee environment
• Strong communication and customer management skills
• Demonstrated results in leading manufacturing excellence, results driven and accountable for actions
• Experience and demonstrated skills in creating a positive work environments
• Ability to drive improvement through implementation of lean manufacturing principles
• Experience with robust compliance requirements and business conduct policies
• Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and working knowledge in all business activities
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills including using skills with groups of employees, managers, customers, and general public
• Strong financial literacy - ability to understand a P&L and comprehend the ramifications of decisions from a financial perspective
• Ability to oversee large capital projects
