Job Opportunity: P.E. Teacher (Bass Private School)

Location: Bass Athletics | Bass Private School

Position Overview

The P.E. Teacher will serve as both a coach and educator, guiding young student-athletes through speed and strength training programs, fitness education, and sports-themed classroom learning. This role blends hands-on athletic development with structured classroom instruction—helping students grow in grit, discipline, and confidence while aligning with our core values of Growth, Authenticity, and Consistency.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: $48,000–$50,000 (DOE)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–3:00pm

• Time Off: Summers, Winter Break, and Holidays

Key Responsibilities

Athletic Training & Coaching

• Lead group training sessions focused on speed, strength, agility, and conditioning.

• Follow organizational pacing guides tailored to the developmental needs of middle school athletes.

• Inspire student-athletes to embrace discipline, effort, and resilience on and off the field.

Classroom Instruction

• Teach structured lessons on fitness, nutrition, and wellness.

• Incorporate sports-themed literature and reading assignments to build engagement and critical thinking.

• Develop lesson plans and classroom activities that align with pacing guides and academic standards.

• Assess student learning through assignments, projects, and participation.

Student Development & Leadership

• Model and mentor Bass Athletics’ values of Growth, Authenticity, and Consistency.

• Support the holistic growth of each student-athlete by integrating athletics, academics, and personal development.

• Encourage habits that reflect grit, perseverance, and a positive mindset.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or a related field strongly preferred.

• Certifications: At least one nationally accredited certification (CSCS, NASM-PES, CSCCA, etc.) preferred but not required if the candidate has strong academic background.

• Experience: 2–3 years teaching, coaching, or training athletes (middle school experience is a plus).

• Skills & Attributes:

  • Ability to teach and connect with middle school student-athletes.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Passion for youth development and holistic student growth.

  • Comfortable balancing classroom teaching with athletic coaching.
