Manager of Logistics

Position: Direct Hire

Location: Fenton, MO.

Salary: $90K - $100K (depending on experience).

Hours: M-F (8 to 5) Possible hybrid. Flexible work schedule including the option of half-day Fridays year-round.

Status: Must be a US Citizen.

Travel: 10% - 15% but may vary based on project requirements.

Summary: Our client is seeking a Manager of Logistics to lead its Logistics Team. This role is responsible for creating timely, cost-effective import and/or exportation of raw materials and finished goods, namely, Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGS) and Industrial Power Boilers. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.

Job Description: As Manager of Logistics, you will manage the team to ensure on-time deliveries of components, support the Sales department by developing logistics strategies and processes for entering new and existing markets on a global basis, evaluate trade-offs between modes of transportation, costs and service levels on a project-basis, ensure compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import/export activity, and manage the performance of all domestic and international carriers, freight forwarders and freight brokers.

Additional responsibilities include managing the technical details of international transportation, including multiple modes, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, as well as building relationships with logistics intermediaries. This position will serve as a logistics expert with knowledge of issues inherent in transporting over dimensional, project cargo worldwide.

Qualifications: Four-year degree in business, data analysis or supply-chain management preferred; experience in lieu of education will be considered.

• At least five (5) years of experience in domestic and international logistics, including break-bulk, bulk, Ocean Carrier, Heavy Hauler, and Freight Forwarder, required. Knowledge of international commerce and customs/trade regulations.
• At least three (3) years managing direct reports.
• Excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, solve problems, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
