Pengate Handling Systems is searching for an Industrial Engineer to join our team! This individual will work closely with the Systems, Automation, and Technology teams to create proposals, design material handling systems, and specify technology deployment strategies. Which involves various aspects of our system design, equipment, and technology portfolio.

What You’ll Do

• Drive and participate in internal and external customer reviews, including initial reviews of opportunities, design reviews, and final proposal presentations
• Provide concepts to customers and the sales team to aid in sales
• Develop presales material handling equipment bill of materials based on RFQ inputs
• Prepare estimates of probable costs for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors for the project based on quotations, schematic drawings, and contract bids
• Help ensure projects stay within budget despite changes or delays
• Create and execute project work plans and revise as needed
• Keep up to date with market trends to ensure proper pricing and estimates
• Advise contractors on adjustments to make on a project to ensure it stays within budget
• Set up systems and procedures for cost monitoring and reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on engineering, math or relevant field experience
• Between 3+ years of working experience in a material handling environment. Automation is a plus
• Minimum knowledge on sorters & ASRS system
• Strong mechanical engineer knowledge as it pertains to design and application
• Ability to read blueprints
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Maintain a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to stand and walk for several hours
• Must be able to continuously talk, hear and speak with good articulation and voice control
• Ability to travel to customer sites
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
