Description What You’ll Do: Occasional driving may be required, for coverage of location needs Works under the direction of the therapists to assist and administer treatment to patients Assistants use a variety of treatments, massages and exercises to help restore physical functions to muscles, bones, nerves and joints. Observe patients’ progress and instruct and motivate them during treatment. Prepares patients for treatment, assists them in using therapy equipment, give routine treatments, and supports them during treatment. Ensures schedules are printed and put out for the day Checks temperatures of fridge, freezer, hydro collator and paraffin bath. Wipes down tables after each treatment. Puts all equipment in proper location and straightens gym area Assists therapists as needed with patient care and cleanup. Communicates with therapists if patients experience pain, fever, excessive swelling Ensures soap dispenser, ultrasound bottles and cleaning bottles are filled with appropriate liquid. Keep thera tubing reading and prepared for home exercise programs Keeps instructions for patients stocked and ready for use. Order supplies as needed, puts supplies away. Change pillow cases and linens on regular basis, puts supplies away Backs up reception staff as needed Answers phones, schedules appointments, pulls and files charts Requirements What You’ll Need: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. On the job training will be performed. Decision-making, leadership and good communication skills required.. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to develop and maintain effective relationships. Must be able to assist patients on examination tables and equipment.. Other duties to be assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company. Requires prolonged sitting, stretching, and some bending. Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopies, telephone, and other equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare
