Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced and dedicated Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and operation of our fleet of waste collection vehicles. This management role is responsible for the overall support of fleet and equipment maintenance processes—including inspection, repair, pre- and post-servicing, vehicle distribution, quality assurance, and disposal. The manager also performs diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify and resolve issues. Oversee maintenance and repair of all fleet vehicles to ensure they are safe, compliant, and operational Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend vehicle life span Lead and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, providing mentorship, direction, and support Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to identify and address inefficiencies Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to optimize fleet utilization and performance Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs Manage the fleet maintenance budget, including parts, labor, and equipment expenses Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for parts and services Conduct ongoing safety training and ensure adherence to all safety standards and protocols.
