The primary role of the Director Catering and Logistics is to ensure smooth daily operations to our catering customers from our commissary bakery. This role also includes catering sales, maintaining and growing our current sales pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the day-to-day duties of sourcing, packing and ensuring deliveries leave with the drivers on-time for catering orders 
  • Assists with the opening and closing duties of the department
  • Assists with keeping the team on track with packing, deliveries, stock and prep duties and cleaning the facility
  • Building delivery routes that guarantees all orders are delivered on time to clients and cafes alike
  • Assess bakery inventory and utilize pack sheets to properly organize catering orders
  • Handle all aspects of the catering sales process from inquiry to booking to delivery 
  • Ensures that the team provides an extraordinary guest experience at every delivery
  • Ensures prepared goods look pleasing and are portioned in accordance to recipes/pack guides
  • Communicate and coordinate with the third party delivery service to ensure the Lucky Lab standards are being met and deliveries are on time.
  • Hire, train and develop catering/delivery team to ensure the Lucky Lab standards are being met, as well as keeping the team motivated and on task throughout the shifts

  • You do not wait for direction and are always looking for ways to improve the department
  • You are are a morning person - shift times regularly begin at 4am 

What it takes to succeed:

  • 4-5 years of experience preferred, but not required 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time 
  • Food Manager card within 30 days of employment 
  • Be organized and extremely thorough 
  • Ability to read and create checklists and spreadsheets
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work in a small space amongst other teams with a high level of productivity 
  • Be able to lift/move boxes up to 50lbs
  • Be incredibly reliable - on time and flexible 
  • Have a valid driver's license  
  • Able to work indoors and in outside weather conditions (i.e., sunny, wet and/or humid conditions)
  • Must love dogs, coffee and community!
