Nonprofit Fundraising Development Associate

Houston, TX

Our client, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing human services within the Houston community, is seeking a Development Associate, who will play a key role in advancing the organization’s mission by building and nurturing relationships with individual and corporate donors. The ideal candidate brings both strategic thinking and emotional intelligence to engage supporters meaningfully and contribute to a culture of philanthropy.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level individual and corporate donors through personalized outreach and stewardship.
• Identify, research and cultivate new donor prospects to expand the organization’s funding base.
• Develop and implement tailored solicitation strategies to support annual revenue goals.
• Build and manage corporate relationships, identifying sponsorships, and partnership opportunities.
• Partner with marketing and communications to produce donor engagement materials and impacts reports.
• Assist in the planning and execution of donor-facing events, including cultivation receptions and stewardship gatherings.
• Accurately track donor interactions and maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system.
• Support organization-wide campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and thematic fundraising initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, required
• 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or corporate partnerships, ideally in a non-profit setting
• Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
