Dermatologic Surgery Nurse Manager
Location & Schedule Full-time (4 days/week), split between
Carrollton and
Peachtree City , Georgia.
Reports To Dr. Sarah Wilson, Mohs and Cosmetic Surgeon West Georgia Dermatology, Newnan Dermatology, and Peachtree City Dermatology
Role Overview We are seeking a clinically exceptional, detail-oriented, and leadership-driven
Dermatologic Surgery Nurse Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Mohs surgery program across three locations and two new Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) in development. Reporting directly to Dr. Sarah Wilson, this individual will be instrumental in executing world-class surgical care, overseeing clinical staffing, developing ASC protocols, and maintaining exceptional standards of wound care, documentation, and patient communication.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership - Oversee, schedule, and coordinate the Mohs medical assistant team across multiple sites, ensuring coverage and clinical readiness.
- Monitor daily clinic flow and ensure that patient care is delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with surgical protocols.
- Review all Mohs documentation and notes prior to provider signature , ensuring accuracy and completeness for compliance and billing.
- Serve as the point-of-contact for wound check visits and manage post-operative patient questions and concerns with clinical expertise and empathy.
ASC Development & Documentation - Lead the creation, standardization, and continuous improvement of clinical protocols, workflow documentation, and SOPs for two ASCs (Carrollton and Peachtree City).
- Ensure ASC readiness for accreditation and compliance by aligning with CMS , OSHA , and state-level ambulatory surgical regulations .
- Collaborate with surgical and administrative leaders to shape and execute ASC project timelines.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement - Implement and monitor quality assurance programs across Mohs operations, proactively identifying gaps and driving clinical excellence.
- Uphold infection control, safety standards, and documentation protocols consistent with ASC and dermatologic surgery best practices.
- Support chart audits, surgical outcome tracking, and workflow optimization initiatives.
Team Management & Staff Development - Lead and mentor the medical assistant team supporting Mohs surgery.
- Deliver ongoing clinical training , performance evaluations, and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between Dr. Wilson and clinical Mohs staff, fostering a high-performing, communicative, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications Required - Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Georgia
- Minimum 3 years of perioperative, dermatologic, or ambulatory surgical experience
- Strong knowledge of Mohs surgery workflow , wound care, and post-op follow-up
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred - BSN or higher; CNML, NE-BC, or perioperative leadership certification a plus
- Prior experience managing multi-site surgical teams or Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs)
- Working knowledge of EHR systems (e.g., EMA,ModMed)
- Familiarity with ASC compliance standards (AAAHC, CMS, OSHA)
