POSITION :

As part of its various projects, ORECA Motorsport is looking for a Composite Design Lead (M/F) based in Signes (Var, France) , near the Paul Ricard Circuit . Reporting to the Program Director, you will be the main technical contact for the client and act as the link with the design teams, managing workloads and supporting them in achieving high performance. Main Responsibilities : Design mechanical components and assemblies related to endurance racing. Develop innovative technical solutions. Carry out complete studies of race car sub-assemblies such as suspensions, chassis, cooling systems, engine integration, etc. - using solid and surface modeling, as well as 2D drafting, to deliver high-performance, reliable, and optimized designs. Work on components such as suspension systems, wheels, hydraulics, fuel and cooling systems, as well as homologation and trackside management equipment (such as legality checks, refueling equipment, etc.). Collaborate with the project manager to account for time, budget, and risk constraints, and coordinate with procurement, metrology, assembly, and manufacturing teams. Ensure the integration of complete systems in collaboration with the simulation/modelling department, based on concept ideas validated through simulation. Supervise the design mock-up activities within the design office. Ensure compliance with ORECA’s design standards and established delegation procedures.

PROFILE :

You have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of experience in race car design , with a deep understanding of vehicle subsystems and their interactions. Key Skills Proven professional experience in motorsport, including direct technical interaction with clients. Proficient in CATIA V5 for complex model design. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. A strong passion for motorsport is a plus. Your Strengths Excellent listening and communication skills. Strong decision-making and influencing abilities. Well-organized, capable of managing project timelines and ongoing design studies. Leadership and team management skills: ability to delegate tasks, support the design team, and balance workloads effectively.
