The Coding Audit Supervisor supervises the coding audit workflow; monitors employee performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems; and actively oversees and supervises production and quality control efforts. This position monitors coder compliance with national coding guidelines and NGHS coding policies for complete, accurate and consistent coding that result in appropriate reimbursement and data integrity. Works with the team to ensure minimal variation in coding practices and improve the quality of physician documentation within the body of the medical record to support code assignments. Provides coder specific education based on review findings and trends. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC and an AAPC specialty credential required. Candidates with only a CPC must attain their CEMC or CPMA within six (6) months of hire. Educational Requirements: High School Diploma Minimum Experience: Five (5) years acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience required Other: Preferred Job Qualifications Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Preferred Educational Requirements: Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT Preferred Experience: Leadership experience in healthcare related field. Three (3) years coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in conducting education to providers and large audiences strongly preferred.
