The Pharmacist provides prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals as required for patient care in accordance with professional standards and practices. A Brief Overview The Pharmacist provides prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals as required for patient care in accordance with professional standards and practices. Ensures proper storage and distribution of drugs. Advises and relates drug information within the limits of professional practice. What you will do - Processes orders and prescriptions to provide medications and pharmaceutical supplies ordered by physicians and authorized medical practitioners.
\n - Provides clinical expertise to evaluate and improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes.
\n - Advises physicians, healthcare staff, students, and patients in the safe administration of medication.
\n - Follows established procedures for medication safety, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
\n - Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements - Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Understands and interprets complex written materials and technical reports.
\n - Demonstrates exceptional customer service and ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and the healthcare staff.
\n - Ability to work with information systems, automated and technical pharmacy equipment.
\n - Demonstrated ability to work independently and to consistently exercise sound judgment and initiative in a wide range of circumstances.
\n - An effective planner with strong skills in scheduling and organizing work flows.
Supervision Provided by this Position - Guides the daily activities of pharmacy technicians and/or students in the assigned work area.
Physical Demands - The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
\n - Must have good balance and coordination.
\n - The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
\n - The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
\n - Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
\n - Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
\n - Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
