Position Summary:The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care within the Emergency Department, ensuring safe and effective nursing practice for patients experiencing urgent and emergent medical conditions. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Communicate promptly with physicians regarding diagnostic results, clinical changes, and treatment needs.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy.
Respond rapidly to emergencies and changes in patient condition, performing life-saving interventions as necessary.
Maintain compliance with EMTALA regulations, patient safety, and privacy standards.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions.
Participate in quality improvement, safety, and departmental performance initiatives.
Float to other units within demonstrated competency as assigned.
Current and valid RN License required
BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
PALS (AHA or Red Cross) required
Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) Certificate required
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience in an acute-care hospital required
Meditech EMR experience preferred
COVID-19 vaccination preferred
Type: Per Diem
Shift: Days 7:00 AM 7:30 PM (12-hour shift)
Schedule: Variable, based on departmental needs
