Assistant Property Manager (2 Openings – Facilities & Leasing Focus) Location: New York, NY Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000 per year Industry: Affordable Housing | Property Management | Real EstateLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected housing organization in Upper Manhattan to fill two Assistant Property Manager positions. These are mid-to-senior level roles ideal for candidates with prior experience in affordable housing, tenant relations, or facilities management.Both roles are based at a busy residential site in the Harlem section of NYC, and require strong communication, Yardi system knowledge, and a hands-on, customer-first mindset. Role #1: Assistant Property Manager – Facilities-Focused This role supports on-site operations by managing maintenance coordination and service delivery for residential units. Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle work order intake, scheduling, and follow-up with vendors and building staff
  • Coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
  • Maintain accurate records in Yardi and support compliance documentation
  • Liaise with building supervisors to monitor progress and flag outstanding issues
  • Support building inspections and enforce site-level standards
Role #2: Assistant Property Manager – Leasing & Tenant Relations This role focuses on resident support, leasing administration, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct apartment tours, assist with lease-ups, and handle recertification paperwork
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns with professionalism and care
  • Support affordable housing programs, including Section 8, NYCHA, PAC, and HUD compliance
  • Update and maintain tenant files within Yardi
  • Monitor satisfaction metrics and resolve tenant complaints efficiently
Required Experience & Skills (Both Roles)
  • 2–3+ years of property management, leasing, or facilities experience
  • Familiarity with affordable housing regulations (Section 8, HUD, NYCHA, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Yardi system proficiency is required
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required
  • Availability for occasional evening (late Wednesdays) and Saturday hours

  • Onsite position with some scheduling flexibility
