Job Description

Overview Assistant or Associate Professor – Clinical Psychology (Tenure Track) – University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor‑level tenure‑track faculty position in the Clinical Psychology program to begin August 16, 2026. The successful candidate will have a promising program of research, contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and demonstrate competency in incorporating principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research and teaching contexts. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses integratively on mental and/or physical health equity, in one or more of these areas: (1) Health psychology; (2) Implementation science; and/or (3) Person- and community-centered intervention development. UIC is an urban research university and a federally‑designated Minority‑Serving Institution. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, with consideration of internal equity. The standard teaching load for tenure‑track faculty in the department is three courses per academic year. Final authorization of the position is subject to availability of funding and other conditions described below. Responsibilities Develop and sustain a productive program of research in Clinical Psychology with potential for external funding. Contribute to teaching and student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in research and teaching contexts. Collaborate with colleagues on campus and with other Chicago metropolitan area universities and medical institutions. Disseminate findings through high-quality scholarship and graduate training activities. Qualifications Ph.D. in Psychology by the time of appointment and completion of an APA‑approved internship. Scholarly productivity and potential for obtaining external funding. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and teaching.
