Job Description :

The Transducer Line Manager is responsible for the administration and performance of the Pressure and Temperature Sensor Assembly and Test activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality precision-engineered pressure and temperature sensors to our Aerospace customers. This position is responsible for managing a team of electronic technicians assembling and testing CCS products utilizing silicone piezo resistive MEMS, Thin Film, Capacitive and SOI sensors for pressure applications; and wire wound RTD’s (Resistance Thermal Detectors) for temperature sensing applications. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, hands-on testing expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. The manager will be required to establish and implement departmental performance objectives and plans in alignment with CCS’ short and long term Business Plans, while meeting delivery schedules and costs objectives. Department plans will include driving continuous improvement of department operations, capacity and process efficiencies, lead lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and assembly automation projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety compliance and customer requirements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence in a fast paced, high-precision manufacturing environment. Other duties include: administration of company policies, employee training and career development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Production Management: Oversee daily assembly and testing operations to meet production schedules, optimize resources and ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Quality Control: Maintain strict adherence to CCS and customer quality requirements and implement robust quality assurance processes and metrics to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop assembly and test team, including recruitment, training, quarterly performance and skill reviews, disciplinary actions, and fostering a collaborative, safety and quality focused work culture. Add personnel as needed to meet new production demands.
  • Process Optimization: Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing, Kaizen projects, process mapping and continuous improvement to enhance process efficiencies, improve productivity, reduce rework and scraps costs, and streamline assembly and testing workflows.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with CCS, industry, ergonomic and statutory safety regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Tool & Die, Accounting and other departments to support production objectives, lean initiatives, technical challenges, documentation changes, tooling needs and new product performance.
  • Equipment, Computers, Tooling and Fixture Maintenance: Maintain and upgrade as needed through support personnel, all equipment, computers, software, tooling and fixtures utilized by department.
  • Procedures and Work Instruction Administration: Maintain, add, improve and train assembly personnel on all procedures and work instructions for department, in accordance with CCS’

AS9100D Quality Management System.

  • Financial Oversight: Manage department expense budget, balancing cost control with production and quality requirements.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain detailed productions records, and report progress and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant (U.S. Citizen or permanent U.S. resident) for Aerospace and Defense work.
  • Education: BS degree in Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering; or related field.
  • Ten (10) years precision electronic design, testing and assembly experience, and at least five (5) years in a supervisory or management role.

Skills and Requirements :

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of micro-electronics design, assembly packaging and testing.
  • Equipment: Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as: power supplies, multi-meters, dielectric and insulation resistance testing; plus pressure controllers and temperature chambers.
  • Experience with LABVIEW, PYTHON or similar test software. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to set and achieve goals, motivate and develop team.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / Kaizen continuous improvement practices.
  • Computer Skills: proficiency with M/S Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and other office software.
  • Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working consistently and working overtime as required.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner.

Preferred Skills:

  • IPC-221 Multi-Later PCB Design experience
  • IPC-J-STD-001, -002 soldering experience
  • Experience with wire bonding, Die attaching and wire pull testing
  • Familiarity with EMI noise filtering circuit protection
  • LABVIEW, PYTHON or similar test programming software
