Immediate W2 contract position available in Montgomery, AL.

Estimated Duration: 26 months

Overview:

• We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Supplemental Utility Arborist.
• This role supports the company's Integrated Vegetation Management Program by monitoring contract tree crews performing routine maintenance along utility rights-of-way.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry or a related field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.
• The assignment will be 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interact with contract tree crews performing vegetation maintenance on company’s rights-of-way.
• Conduct daily field inspections, often working alone and traveling between job sites.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external power customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and vegetation management protocols.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in utility-based vegetation management is a plus.
• Familiarity with local vegetation and ability to identify regional trees and plants is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to self-manage time, tasks, and deadlines effectively.
• Alabama Certified Pesticide Applicator and ISA Certified Arborist is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working independently for extended periods.
• Must be physically capable of walking reasonable distances in field conditions.
• The hiring agency will provide a truck, computer, phone, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
